Monica was discovered at the young age of 11 years old in 1991 by Dallas Austin with Arista Records. Monica debut Miss Thang released in July 1995 it was 36 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and seven on the Top R&B Album. That album had three top 10 hits including “Don’t Take It Personal (Just On of Dem Days)” and “Before You Walk Out of My life” making Monica he youngest artist to have two sequential hits on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B Singles chart. “For You I Will” from the movie Space Jam soundtrack was her next top 10 hit a year later she asked to team up with Brandy for “The Boy Is Mine” it was both their first single off their second albums in May 1998 the album The Boy Is Mine was Monica’s biggest album with two number one hits “The First Night” and “Angel of Mine”.Monica has made appearances on Living Single in 1996 and Beverly Hills, 90210 in 1997 and 1999. Monica was in an MTV Films drama “Love Song” in 2000 with debut song “What My Heart Says” with promotion of her album All Eyez on Me in 2002. Monica started reconstruction of the album and named is “After the Storm” with hits “So Gone” and “U Should’ve Known Better” which reached 19 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In 2006 she released The Makings of Me with singles “Every time tha Beat Drop” and “A Dozen Roses (You Remind Me).” Also appearing in the movie ATL as a Waffle House waitress her next album Still Standing was released in March 2010. April 2012 Monica’s seventh album New Life was released with singles “It All Belongs to Me”, “Until It’s Gone” and “Anything (To Find You). Her newest album title Code Red is set to be released in December of this year 2015.
